Black mothers are 79% more likely than their white and Hispanic peers to experience postpartum readmission and 12-27% more likely to experience severe maternal morbidity during that readmission.  Black mothers are three times more likely to die in childbirth than their white and Hispanic peers. She Matters is confident that our culturally competent certification program will improve these statistics and health outcomes for Black mothers.
Good Afternoon! She Matters is launching the ONLY digital health platform that offers a culturally competent certification tailored to the specific nuances and challenges faced by Black women patients. Given the maternal mortality crisis in the country we are focused on improving health outcomes for Black mothers. The objective of the training is to improve the relationship between provider and patient as well as improve postpartum maternal mortality outcomes by increasing the six-week postpartum return visit for Black mothers while also reducing the number of emergency readmissions for Black mothers during their postpartum period. We are looking for doulas, licensed clinical social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists who are interested in being part of the inaugural group of professionals to complete the She Matters Cultural Competence Certification. She Matters is making huge strides to make a change, we are establishing partnerships with hospitals and other organizations to bring QUALITY healthcare to Black moms everywhere.
